What We Offer
Our practice areas
Each engagement is shaped around your situation. We do not apply a standard process to matters that are, by nature, personal.
Reflective Pre-Filing Session
A single, unhurried session for those still weighing whether to proceed. We give an honest view of what a formal process involves and where other paths — mediation, counselling, or simply more time — may serve you better.
- No obligation to proceed after
- Candid overview of options
- Alternatives discussed openly
Syariah & Civil Coordination
A measured advisory for Muslim clients navigating family matters that touch both civil and Syariah court jurisdiction. We clarify where each forum applies and help ensure decisions in one arena do not inadvertently complicate the other.
- Jurisdiction clearly mapped
- Syariah-aware advisors available
- Orderly, not adversarial
Long-Form Family Affairs Plan
A patient, multi-session engagement producing a single ordered file covering parenting, marriage, financial, and inheritance arrangements — alongside a family memorandum you may share with relatives. Annual reviews offered at your option.
- Comprehensive written family memorandum
- Covers parenting, finance & inheritance
- Optional annual review
Why Clients Choose Us
A practice built on patience
No unnecessary speed
Family decisions carry weight that outlasts any appointment. We move at the pace that serves your situation, not a billing cycle.
Candid assessments
We tell clients when we think a matter does not require formal proceedings. That kind of honesty is central to how the firm operates.
Dual-court awareness
For Muslim families in Malaysia, matters frequently cross between civil and Syariah jurisdiction. We navigate both with care.
Documented arrangements
We produce written records that family members can read and reference — not just court documents, but clear family memoranda.
Discreet handling
Family proceedings are private matters. The firm treats every engagement with the same discretion we would want for our own.
Ongoing relationship
Family circumstances shift over time. Clients who want to revisit their arrangements are welcome to do so, with no pressure to continue.
Not sure where to begin?
A pre-filing session is designed for exactly this — a quiet conversation about what your options are, with no expectation of anything further. Many clients leave with a clearer head, whether or not they proceed with us.
Questions We Often Hear
Common questions
Do I have to decide anything at the first session?
No. The Reflective Pre-Filing Session is specifically designed so that you are not required to commit to anything. You may leave having decided not to pursue any legal route, and we regard that as a successful outcome.
How does the Syariah and civil coordination work in practice?
We begin by mapping which aspects of your matter fall under civil jurisdiction and which fall under Syariah. We then work to ensure the decisions and orders obtained in one forum do not create complications in the other. Where Syariah-specific expertise is needed, we work alongside advisors who hold that knowledge.
How long does the Long-Form Family Affairs Plan take?
It varies by the complexity of your family's circumstances, but most clients complete the primary engagement over three to five sessions across several weeks. There is no fixed deadline; we proceed when you are ready to proceed.
Are your fees the total cost, or will there be additional charges?
The fees listed cover the firm's professional engagement. If your matter proceeds to court filing or requires disbursements (court fees, third-party document retrieval, etc.), these are communicated in advance and itemised separately. We do not add costs without discussion.
Is what I share with the firm confidential?
Yes. Legal professional privilege applies to all communications with the firm. What you share in consultation remains with us. This applies from the first session, regardless of whether you engage us further.
